CGJDConsulting · Workflow Automation · Principal Solution Owner

Get your time back to do the work you love.

Your manual work, automated. Your outcomes, delivered.

A single point of accountability from discovery through to handover, no relay between account managers and delivery teams, nothing lost in translation. We design it, build it, prove it against your real data, then hand your team the keys.

What a Principal Solution Owner does

Not a generalist consultancy. Not a single contractor bolted onto your team. A turnkey delivery partner who ships.

CGJDConsulting takes a complex operational problem and delivers a working, integrated solution: designed, built, tested against your real data, and handed back so your team owns it. The value is the delivery model, not headcount.

Clients in charity, catering, and life sciences buy the same thing: someone who can translate a messy problem into something that runs. Low-code where it fits, AI-enabled where it earns its place, always built to be maintained by the people who use it.

The delivery model

Four phases. Each one ends in something you can hold.

Every engagement runs the same way. No open-ended retainers, no work you cannot see. A clear deliverable closes each phase.

01

Discovery

Understand the real operational problem, not just the stated request. Map what exists, what is manual, where the data lives, and the risks you have not seen yet.

02

Solution design

Define the target workflow and architecture. Choose the right tools, favouring low-code unless there is a clear reason not to.

03

Build & validate

Prove the core workflow first. Build in increments, test against your real data, iterate on feedback rather than assumptions.

Document the system, train the people who own it, and define the support model so nothing depends on me being in the room.

Certification readiness

Winning the work increasingly means proving you’re secure.

Grants and public-sector contracts now often ask for Cyber Essentials before they will sign. I get charities and small teams certification-ready: a plain-English check against the five controls, the fixes that actually matter, and the evidence pulled together, so the requirement stops being the thing that holds up the funding.

1 dayZero data to real-time impact, live the day it launched.

A charity that could not evidence its own impact

Real value was being delivered on the ground, but attendance sat on paper and outcomes went unrecorded. Without data, there was nothing to show a funder.

I built a zero-cost MVP in a single day to prove the data flow, then rebuilt it in Base44 as the system of record. Six separate registration forms folded into one check-in.

A solo founder losing work to inconsistent follow-up

No system, and no time to build one. Good conversations were going cold because nobody was there to chase them.

A capped, compliant email engine, designed, built, and handed over. It runs on its own, and the founder owns it. I do not touch it.

A safety team reconciling databases by hand

Every month, specialists were manually matching clinical and safety records. Slow, costly, and exactly the kind of work that invites error.

Robotic process automation across a validated value stream, built to the standard a regulated environment demands. The people were freed for the work only people can do.

Life sciences · EDC access
30 minDown from days per request, across 208 ICON-owned systems.

Getting into a live trial system took days. The trial didn’t.

Access to ICON’s EDC systems ran through a manual queue. Every request meant someone checking a role and assigning it by hand, then hoping nothing was mistyped. Across 208 systems, that queue was the bottleneck, not the trial.

I led the initiative as ICON’s embedded Solution Owner, connecting the EDC vendor’s API straight into ServiceNow, ICON’s own workflow platform. Requests now validate and route themselves, a two-stage approval keeps oversight in place, and a self-service portal replaced the ticket queue entirely.
